Below is the text of an email I just recieved from one of the profs. whose students I teach on Thursday mornings. Normally, she has half the class in one room while I work with the other half of the class and then we switch groups the following week. She will be on strike and is asking me to cover for her. Does that defeat the purpose of going on strike? Am I considered a "scab" if I am asked to fill in by the worker who is going on strike? Has striking lost touch with its roots as an arguably constructive means of protest in the country of France?
Great!
I'll keep you posted about where and when we meet up.
I will be on strike on Thursday, as well as several other teachers I think. Can I ask you a favour ?
Would you mind taking the whole class (1e ES1) ? The students themselves suggested it
but if that bothers you, just let me know, it's ok.
See you soon

I am very interested to see what happens. The word strike must mean something different for them.
